Amitabha Buddha Statues

Amitabha (Tib. Opagme) (limitless light) is one of the eldest Dhyani Buddhas (Meditation-Buddhas).
 He represents the wisdom of discriminating awareness. He always exhibits Dhyana mudra, sometimes with bowl, sometimes without bowl.
Amitabha is red in colour and he represtented in the stupa facing to the west. He rides on a peacock smybolising that he can take away the suffering of the others just as the peacock eats poisonous plants and yet his tail shines forth.
He is one of the five Tathagas, he presents purified form of desire. His symbol is the lotous flower, his element is fire.
The other Dhyani Buddhas are Akshabhya, Ratnasambhava, Amoghasiddhi and Vairocana.
