Simhamukha Buddha Statues
Simhamukha or singha mukha is a Dakini , a lion-headed mother, (Tib.: Senge Dang Ma ). She is called mother of every victor and is chief of several dakinis. She is known for her magical power for destruction of obstructing adversaries. She is twohanded. The right hand holds vajra and the left hand carries a skull cup. On her left shoulder she has a tantric staff (khatvanga). She is depicted in a nrityamurti asana (dancing). with the left hand on a corpse, and the right hand is raised, she wears a garland of human skulls.
